Perfectly imperfect Wearable Art. I create my artwork using a technique called Kaleidoscope Caning, similar to the process used in the production of rock candy….but instead of candy I blend manipulate and form polymer clay into a triangular shaped cane. The cane is sliced thinly and laid out as a canvas matching all seams together. Earing shapes are cut from the canvas, baked and surgical steel posts are attached to the back. All left over clay from my art goes into making abstract and inkblot earrings. Every piece is unique and contain parts of my original artwork. I love doing this as for me it is like painting with clay. My part-time hobby has become a fulltime job recently and I am grateful to have a skill I can make income from and be passionate about.
